Overview

Large-scale enterprise networks require unified visibility into heterogeneous network components from many different vendors. This work tackles this challenge by introducing a scalable and unified network data ingest pipeline that handle differences between many vendors.

  • Designed network telemetry ingestion pipelines for large-scale distributed monitoring of enterprise networks.
  • Enhanced network data collection capabilities by integrating various SNMP-based modules for ATM and Layer 4 switches supporting diverse network devices from Cisco, Alcatel, and Juniper
  • The network monitoring system was used to provide observability of Samsung enterprise’s network infrastructure as well as its subsidaries and customer networks.

Technology

  • C-based Ping, SNMP, Cisco Netflow, syslog data ingest pipeline
  • Oracle RDBMS backend
  • Compatible with Cisco, Alcatel, Juniper, network device (L2, L3, L4, ATM switches)
  • HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Linux
